“There is
huge misconception between just be yourself and be the best of yourself” so,
the question now is why so many people still use “just be yourself”? Don’t just
“be yourself”, but be” the best of yourself”.
Because if we just be ourselves without make the significant changes,
that’s means we will not be able to reach the better things. So, how to be the
best of yourself?
Learn to
be accepting of others.
We tolerate people of differing races. We tolerate people with differing
opinions. And that’s exactly the problem. We cannot truly interact with, cannot
truly live with, cannot truly love that which we merely tolerate. We must learn
to trade tolerance for acceptance and, yes, even love. Being accepting means
truly believing or coming to recognize other people.
Stop
nit-picking yourself.
We all have insecurities we are ashamed or annoyed about, we all have things
that aren't exactly beautiful, it's true we are our own worst-critic. A little
critical self-evaluation is a good thing, too much focus can be destructive. If
you go looking for what’s wrong with yourself, then that’s what you will find.
Try looking for positive things about you, and you may surprise yourself.
Be
carefree. When you
start to care what people think about you all the time, then you're wondering
what everyone is thinking all the time. After you die who's going to think
about you then? So if no one is going to think about you after you die, why
should you care about what someone thinks when your alive? Why should you walk
around worrying what half the world thinks every day, when half the town wont
even be at your funeral? Don't dwell on the negative, instead, reach for
something positive. Don't worry about the little things in life,
appreciate and go for something that you've never tried.
Be kind.
What does it mean to be kind? Help someone, give a thoughtful compliment, offer
a heart-warming smile, give a kind impression, and etc. The most wonderful
thing about kindness is that you can never give too much, and you never be too nice.
Being nice can range from small to big things, but it also can never be under
appreciated, even if it does seem that way.
Be yourself. That means following your own style, and believing
what you can be, the most crucial part in being the best of who you can be.
